California’s Central Valley has long been overlooked by basketball recruiters and scouts, but that is changing. The West Coast Super Showcase was created to help the region’s top basketball players gain exposure to West Coast scouts and media.
In the fall of 2012, the first annual West Coast Super Showcase presented by CaliforniaPreps.com in Fresno, Calif., was a smashing success. The event exposed StudentSportsBasketball.com to some of the region’s better underclass players such as point guard Murshid Randle (Central, Fresno), powerful forward Calvin Young (Bullard, Fresno) and point guard Colin Slater (Immanuel, Reedley, Calif.).
The trio and many others used the showcase as a springboard to a successful 2012-2013 high school season. Slater made the 10-man CalHiSports.com All-State Freshmen team at Clovis North and is considered one of the West’s top point guards in the 2016 class.
Slater is slated to participate in the 2013 Fall West Coast Super Showcase presented by CaliforniaPreps.com. Other top prospects expected to be in attendance include Jordan Roberson (Cordova, Rancho Cordova, Calif.) and Jordan Ford (Folsom, Calif.). The one-day event takes place Saturday, October, 26 at Clovis East High School located at:
4323 N Leonard Ave
Clovis, CA 93619
